Privacy notice.
Your information is safe with me. This notice explains, in plain English, what I collect, why, and what your rights are.
Last updated 1 November 2026
Who I am
LUCINDHA LAWSON LTD (“I”, “me”) is the controller of your personal information. I'm Lucindha Lawson, the company's director, and I'm responsible for how your information is handled.
Registered in England & Wales, company no. 17408408. Registered office: 128 City Road, London, EC1V 2NX. The company is registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) and has paid the data protection fee.
For anything about your personal information, email privacy@lucindhalawson.co.uk.
Who this notice covers
- People who visit this website.
- People who send an enquiry or contact me.
- Accounting clients, and the people connected to them (for example company directors or shareholders).
- People who book or attend coaching sessions, talks or workshops, and the organisations that book them.
What I collect
When you send an enquiry: your name, email address, mobile number (if you give it), what your enquiry is about, the services you're interested in, what best describes you, the details you share, how you'd like me to contact you and any communication or access needs you tell me about.
If you become an accounting client: identity details and documents, which I must check under anti-money laundering law; contact details; and the financial, business and tax information I need to do the work, such as bank statements, invoices, receipts, payroll information, your Unique Taxpayer Reference and National Insurance number.
For coaching, talks and workshops: the contact and booking details needed to arrange the session, any access requirements, and, for coaching, the emergency contact and health information you choose to share so the session can be run safely.
When you visit the website: my hosting provider automatically records technical information, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, to deliver the site and keep it secure. I don't use analytics or advertising tools, and the site doesn't set cookies. See the cookie policy.
Access needs and health information
Information about access needs or health can be “special category” information, which the law protects more carefully. I only use it with your explicit consent, and only to make my communication and services accessible and safe for you – for example to book a BSL interpreter.
You never have to share it, and you can withdraw your consent at any time by emailing me.
Why I use it, and the legal reasons
- To reply to your enquiry and prepare a quote – because you've asked me to, before entering into a contract.
- To provide the services you've engaged me for – to perform my contract with you.
- To check identity and keep records under anti-money laundering law, and to meet tax, accounting and professional duties – because the law requires it.
- To run my business properly (for example keeping the website secure, keeping business records and handling complaints and insurance claims) – my legitimate interests, which I balance against your rights.
- To use access needs or health information – your explicit consent, or where it's needed to protect someone's vital interests in an emergency.
I don't send marketing emails. If I ever do, I'll only send them with your consent, and you'll be able to unsubscribe at any time.
How long I keep it
- Enquiries that don't lead to work: up to 12 months after our last contact.
- Client identity and due diligence records: 5 years after our business relationship ends, as anti-money laundering law requires.
- Client accounting and tax records: generally 6 years after the end of the tax year or accounting period they relate to, or longer where the law, my insurer or my professional body requires it.
- Coaching, talk and workshop bookings: as long as needed to deliver the session and follow up, and longer only where the law or insurance requires it (for example an accident record).
After that, I delete or securely destroy it.
How I keep it safe
Your information is held on secure, password-protected business systems. This website uses an encrypted connection (HTTPS), and only people who need your information to do their job can see it. If a data breach ever puts you at high risk, I'll tell you without undue delay.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the information I hold about you;
- ask me to correct anything that's wrong or incomplete;
- ask me to delete your information or limit how I use it;
- object to how I use it, where I rely on legitimate interests;
- ask for information you gave me to be passed to you or someone else in a usable format;
- withdraw your consent at any time, where I rely on it.
Some rights have limits. For example, I can't delete records the law requires me to keep. To use any of these rights, email privacy@lucindhalawson.co.uk in whatever way suits you, including a BSL video. There's normally no charge, and I'll reply within one month.
Concerns and complaints
If you're unhappy with how I've handled your information, please tell me first at privacy@lucindhalawson.co.uk. I'll acknowledge your complaint within 30 days and let you know the outcome.
You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint (opens in a new tab) or on 0303 123 1113.
